Welcome to our new website — unveiled at our April 2026 Annual General Meeting and marking an exciting new chapter for the Society.

Updating our website
When the Redditch History Society began back in 2009, the digital world looked very different. Even the website I built ten years ago has started to show its age. It has served us well, but it’s time for something fresher, clearer, and more in tune with how people explore local history today.
One of my main goals has been to make our rich archive of newsletters — running from April 2019 to the present — far easier to browse. These newsletters are the heartbeat of the Society, capturing our research, discoveries, and community stories. You can now find all seventy (and counting) gathered neatly on a single page, ready for anyone with an enquiring mind to dive in.
Role of the website
Our meetings and newsletters sit at the centre of the new site, reflecting the core purpose of the Society: sharing knowledge, sparking curiosity, and keeping Redditch’s heritage alive.
We’ve also taken the opportunity to move to a higher‑level domain. You’ll now find us at www.redditchhistorysociety.org, though the old .org.uk address will still bring you safely to the right place — continuity matters just as much as progress.
