Community Newsletter
Our community newsletter is distributed regularly to keep members informed about historical events, interesting stories, and relevant discussions within our society. These newsletters serve to enrich our community’s knowledge and promote ongoing engagement with historical themes and topics of interest.
Support
The society supports and encourages members to:
• Create presentations/talks concerning their interests and we are very pleased for members to give their talks at our meetings.
• Produce articles/books on local history and we can publish short articles in our Newsletter.
• Carry out research into our local and regional history.
Of course, we are happy to have members who simply wish to attend our monthly talks. This is most of our members and we are grateful for their support.
Community Centred
We’re a local community group, one of many in the area supporting a wide range of interests.
Our society is run entirely by volunteers and is completely self‑funding, so we rely on the support of our members and visitors to cover the costs of speakers, venue hire, and general administration.
This independence allows us to shape our own programme and offer talks that appeal to a broad and curious audience.
